AB Avantage cofounders Ayman Elkasaby and Bassel Riad proudly announce AB Avantage’s partnership with the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) to provide specialized technical consulting and implementation support in Egypt. This collaboration takes place under the supervision of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and in close coordination with Egyptian settlement banks, ensuring that the nation’s financial infrastructure is seamlessly integrated into the broader African payments ecosystem.
As part of this engagement, AB Avantage plays a key role in aligning the technical, regulatory, and operational frameworks necessary for Egypt’s effective participation in PAPSS. The company’s consulting team is working alongside financial and regulatory institutions to assess system readiness, design secure integration pathways, and ensure compliance with both national banking standards and PAPSS’s interoperability protocols.

PAPSS — an initiative launched by Afreximbank and the African Union — is a landmark system that enables instant, cross-border payments across African countries in local currencies. By removing the need for third-party intermediaries or reliance on hard currency settlements, it directly supports the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and enhances intra-African trade efficiency.
Through this partnership, AB Avantage reinforces its commitment to financial innovation, digital transformation, and regional economic integration. The company’s experience in fintech architecture, regulatory alignment, and large-scale digital payment systems enables it to act as a strategic technical bridge between regulators, banks, and PAPSS.
By working closely with the CBE and Egypt’s settlement banks, AB Avantage ensures that local institutions are technically and operationally equipped to adopt PAPSS. This includes supporting system integration, liquidity management, real-time transaction processing, and settlement governance, ensuring a smooth and compliant transition to the new cross-border framework.

This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in Egypt’s role within Africa’s financial ecosystem — strengthening connectivity, reducing transaction costs, and empowering businesses to trade more efficiently across borders.
AB Avantage continues to position itself at the forefront of Africa’s digital finance transformation journey, combining technical expertise, policy understanding, and innovation leadership to build sustainable solutions for the continent’s future.
